Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 is in full swing, with Mortal Kombat‘s Sub-Zero leading the Battle Pass as the level 100 skin ahead of the release of three characters from the franchise later this week.
With over a month to go before the end of the season, eyes are already turning to the upcoming Chapter 6 Season 3 and what we can expect, and the first major details have just been leaked.
Instead of Fortnite celebrating Star Wars Day this year, Epic Games has decided to theme an entire season on one of Disney’s most popular IPs.
Prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX has revealed via FNBRIntel that the upcoming Chapter 6 Season 3 will see the return of Star Wars, with the entire season being themed around the sci-fi franchise.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 will last for just 30-35 days, but it will include multiple bosses, themed POIs, and new Mythic Weapons.
As many of the main characters from the series have already made appearances in Fortnite, it will be interesting to see who is chosen for the Battle Pass, or whether existing characters will receive new versions as we’ve seen with Remixed skins for Fortnite OG.
HYPEX has also revealed that Chapter 6 Season 3 will begin on May 2nd, with updates on May 15th and May 29th, before concluding on June 8th.
Disney owning both Epic Games and Star Wars has led to many collaborations, from skins for Anakin and Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Han Solo in the Item Shop to characters including Darth Vader, The Mandalorian, and Darth Maul in Battle Passes.
Iconic weapons such as the Lightsaber have also made numerous appearances in Fortnite over the years, usually around Star Wars Day (May 4th), which coincides with the beginning of Chapter 6 Season 3.
Season 4 is set to kick off on June 8th and will run through most of the summer, including a month-long break by Epic Games where Fortnite will see no updates. Previous Chapters have been ending after four seasons, so it will be interesting to see whether Season 5 will be released in July 2025 or the game will enter Chapter 7. This would make Chapter 6 the shortest in the game’s history at just eight months long.
