It is time to dive once again as Helldivers 2 players have received their next mission and the new Major Order has just gone live.
This Major Order tasks players with taking down the Automatons to help buy Super Earth time to build the Penrose Energy Siphone to try and slow down The Illuminate and stop the destruction of more planets.
The new Major Order comes just hours after the 01.002.200 update which saw many buffs to weapons and Strategems, along with major crashing fixes. Arrowhead Game Studios also announced the new wild west themed Borderline Justice Warbond alongside the recent patch.

Following the completion of the latest Major Order, Super Earth informed players that while the efforts were valiant, we still haven’t secured enough E-710 and would need more. However, our efforts will slow down The Illuminate and their Dark Energy accumulation saying,

“The Helldivers, through valiant defense against the spread of insectile Fascism, have enabled the construction of the Penrose Energy Siphon. The individual parts of the massive E-710-powered rocket are now being assembled in the orbit of Ivris for future launch into the ergosphere of the Meridian Singularity.
The Siphon is not yet ready for deployment. It still requires massive quantities of E-710, which will need to be gathered by the Helldivers.
Soon, a reduction in the Dark Energy accumulated by the Illuminate will be possible, buying much-needed time to save our citizens’ beloved homes from gravitational shredding.”
Super Earth then gave the Helldivers 2 community its next mission for the new Major Order, which tasks us with defending eight Automaton-controlled planets while also taking down 1,250,000,000 robots saying,

“Automaton forces have landed on multiple planets in what appears to be a coordinated, large-scale, craven assault.
The forces are led by a series of new Automaton Units wielding incendiary weapons. This unit has been termed the Incineration Corps.
The Incineration Corps has landed at multiple colonies, burning them to the ground. Multiple reports indicate the attacking units are simulating the emotion of sadistic glee—further proof of the enemy’s barbaric programming.
Without the direct intervention of the Helldivers, countless colonies and homesteads will be lost, and the Automatons will steal significant swaths of territory.
However, the Penrose Energy Siphon, which would significantly slow the Singularity’s advance, is nearly ready for activation. Every lost day could make the difference between the preservation or destruction of another planet.
High Command delegates to the Helldivers this choice: hold off the Automaton assault, or effect the immediate activation of the Penrose Energy Siphon.”

Recently, Helldivers 2 players were unable to take out a combined 2.5 billion Automatons and Terminids, just narrowly missing the target. This means that 50% of that should be easily achievable, although most players do favor the Terminids so it will be interesting to see how many players dive into Automaton missions to do their bit for democracy.
Regardless of failure or success, it is nice to have a break from The Illuminate, which has dominated the Omens of Tyranny chapter of Helldivers 2 so far. It is frustrating that, after 10 months of rumors and leaks, when The Illuminate finally arrived in the game they have been so far disappointing.
When looking at stats, they are the lowest-played faction in the game, at times with just 20% of the player base fighting them.
