Helldivers 2 took the gaming world by storm, going on to peak at over 500,000 concurrent players and quickly became Sony’s fastest-selling game of all time. Over the past year, millions of players have jumped into the game to serve sweet Liber-tea to the Automatons, Terminids, and most recently The Illuminate, which finally entered the Galactic War following The Game Awards.
The game has a huge scope for what could be done outside of the video game, such as movies, TV shows, comics, books, and many other forms of media. But it looks like Arrowhead Game Studios’ first expansion of the Helldivers 2 universe is with a brand-new tabletop game.
In collaboration with Steamforged Games, Arrowhead Game Studios is set to launch crowdfunding for the upcoming Helldivers 2: The Board Game on April 8, 2025, allowing players to serve Liber-tea from the tabletop with up to four players.

Steamforged Games has worked with many publishers to bring tabletop adaptations of popular videogames to life, with some including 6: Siege – The Board Game, Elden Ring: The Board Game, Horizon Forbidden West: Seeds of Rebellion, Monster Hunter World: The Board Game, and Resident Evil: The Board Game.
Much like the Helldivers 2 video game, players will have to defend democracy from the various enemies and factions, utilizing Stratagems and other means of fire power. To keep with the theme of the main game, even friendly fire is enabled so make sure you don’t drop a 500KG Bomb on your teammates.
In a press release, Steamforged Games announced the upcoming Helldivers 2: The Board Game saying,
“We are beyond thrilled to announce this glorious, cooperative, explosion-filled adaptation of the fastest-selling PlayStation video game of all time, developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.”
The creator expanded on what players can expect from Helldivers 2: The Board Game, revealing that “players can expect heroic last stands, spectacular mishaps, and the kind of cinematic action that turns every gaming session into a glorious war story!”

Players will be able to fund the project on Gamefound, which has been used to bring many tabletop games to life. Some recent succeses include Blasphemous: The Board Game, which has raised over €1,000,000 as its campaign draws to a close.
Steamforged Games has also found major success utilizing Gamefound, with Elden Ring: The Board Game raising over £3.4 million, while Monster Hunter World: The Board Game saw a staggering £9.2 million given by backers for the adaptation of Capcom’s best-selling video game.
No news regarding pricing has been made available, how the game will work, or what backers can expect or receive. Players will have to wait for the campaign to launch on Aptil 8, but we will likely receive more updates before then both on Gamefound and the official Helldivers Discord server.
