With Xenoblade Chronicles X recently hitting the Nintendo Switch, there doesn’t seem to be much in the pipeline before the Nintendo Switch 2 is released later this year.
Although many of the Switch 2’s early releases will launch on both consoles, as it stands right now, Summer 2025 looks to be incredibly dry for the owners of the 150 million+ Switch consoles that have been sold since the console was released in 2017.
That could be all about to change though, as Nintendo has finally announced the next Nintendo Direct presentation following leaks and rumors yesterday…but don’t expect any news on the Switch 2.

In a post on X, Nintendo announced the upcoming Direct presentation, which is set to take place on March 27 saying,
“Tune in tomorrow, March 27th, at 7 a.m. PT for a livestreamed #NintendoDirect, featuring around 30 minutes of upcoming games for Nintendo Switch. There will be no updates about Nintendo Switch 2 during this presentation.”
Despite no news on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 being shared, gamers don’t have too long to wait as the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is scheduled for April 2, just one week from today, where Nintendo will reveal plenty of information regarding games and the console itself, hopefully giving us an insight into how powerful it will be and what its capabilities are.
