The Nintendo Switch 2 was rumored for months before finally being revealed earlier this year. Since then, players have been eagerly awaiting April 2nd rolling around as Nintendo is set to host a Direct presentation where they will reveal everything we have been wanting to know about its next console.
That day is almost here as the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct goes live tomorrow, but that’s not all that we have to look forward to this week.
In an announcement I really hope is not an April Fools joke, Nintendo has announced that Treehouse: Live is also returning later this week.

Nintendo took to X to announce that the Nintendo Treehouse format will be returning on April 3rd and 4th following the Switch 2 Direct the day before.
These events will show real-time, hands-on gameplay of numerous Nintendo Switch 2 games, similar to what we saw during E3 events in previous years.
On X, Nintendo announced the events saying “Join us on April 3rd and April 4th at 7 a.m. PT each day for a Nintendo Treehouse: Live | Nintendo Switch 2 presentation featuring hands-on gameplay of #NintendoSwitch2 games!”
Nintendo Treehouse events were among my favorite parts of E3, with it serving as a great way to close out the event as Nintendo showcased many of the titles it had previously revealed during its own presentation in a more casual setting. These events would often feature interviews and commentaries by developers and key figures in the company.
No games that will be featured have been announced, but with Mario Kart 9 being shown in the initial reveal of the Switch 2, we will likely find out much more information on the game over the coming days.
This announcement can also be found in the Nintendo Today app, which notes that it will last for four hours on April 3rd, and three hours on April 4th, giving us seven hours of Nintendo Switch 2 gameplay.
It looks to be a busy time for Nintendo fans this week and I can’t wait for it. Please Nintendo, give us a release date.
